It'll never happen...

What are the chances?...

Even if something did happen, we wouldn't be affected....

All of these are the famous last words of businesses that think they are bulletproof when it comes to disaster management. So, you are based in London, a Tornado isn't going to rip the city apart and take your servers with it. We can be fairly sure of that. (although with our current weather, who knows?) Your offices are 20 floors up, there is no chance of anything happening up here. The reality is, these things do happen. Businesses can be hit with unexpected circumstances that leave them powerless and ineffective until the issue gets resolved. This is the reason you need to really think about disaster management. Now this isn't a scare tactic, it's simple common sense that means you don't lose revenue, stock doesn't get booked out of a warehouse that's just flooded and your customers aren't left unsatisfied by the lack of service you can offer because your IT systems are down.

This is where the cloud comes in...

NetSuite Solutions Provider

NetSuite, the leading Cloud Based IT solution, has an uptime of 99.95%. No one can promise 100%. There is always a small chance of downtime, but in all honesty, I've yet to come across it using NetSuite day in day out. Now we know that NetSuite is safe and it's data centres are in multiple, reliable locations, we can rest assured that your data is going to be accessible 99.95% of the time.  So what happens if things go down on your end? What happens in the event of a power cut, natural disaster, fire alarm, and so on? Your data might be safe but what good is that to anyone if we can't access it. Well actually, that's simple. Depending on your industry type, there are several options here. The first one is my favourite.

Grab a Coffee

1. Go and Grab a Coffee - NetSuite is an online based cloud product. No software downloads, no discs, no servers. It's all browser based. So grab your laptop, get a large latte and get on with your day. Don't allow someone's burnt lunch to cost you money. Let the fire brigade and the office administrator deal with the mess of that while you keep up to date with your sales leads, HR reports, and warehouse management.

NetSuite Solutions App

2. No Wifi No Worries - NetSuite has an app for that. You can manage your data on your mobile as well as using your mobiles browser. Everything you need at your fingertips with 4G (cue the Kevin Bacon Advert, EE).

Product Earth Solutions - NetSuite Solutions Provider

3. Contact your local NetSuite Solutions Provider - 3EN has the facilities to set you up in our offices with dedicated phone lines and technology to keep your business live. We have NetSuite Specialists to work with you here to ensure your still in the game, regardless the disaster. Now I know that sounded a bit like a sales person talking, but to be honest, it's the truth.

Hopefully this should make you sleep slightly better at night, knowing that if a delivery truck crashes in to your warehouse and takes out your communications and internet and electricity and damages some stock, you are going to be fine. Well that is of course if you have went for the world's leading cloud solution. If you're still using servers and can't access your backups and have no way of access your IT system until the communications problem is fixed, then i'm sorry for your loss of revenue, customers, and stock control.

Maybe it's time to switch to the cloud?...

Maybe we should have a disaster management process in place, just in case?...

Maybe I should book in for a chat with 3EN?...
